Whidbey Island and Coupeville

Whidbey Island is sixty miles long and ten miles wide at its widest point. The weather is mild and the island is beautiful year round. Whidbey Island has six state parks, Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, and miles of public beaches ready for exportation. If you like hiking, biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, golfing, tennis, bird watching, rock collecting or just relaxing on a beach or on a grassy hillside watching a bald eagle soar in the skies above, Whidbey is the place for you.

For the shopper there are many antique shops, art galleries and more in the little towns located throughout the island. The Keystone state ferry to Port Townsend is a short scenic ferry ride that is located only four miles from the town of Coupeville. Port Townsend provides many easy day trips you can take to explore Olympic National Park and the Olympic Peninsula.

The town of Coupeville is located in the heart of Whidbey and is considered the jewel of the island. It is the second oldest town in the state of Washington and was a popular place for sea captains to retire in the early 1800’s. It has now become a popular spot to film major Hollywood movies like, "Practical Magic" with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, "War of the Roses" with Danny De Vito, and "Snow Flakes Falling on Cedar".

The quaint little shops, the county museum, excellent restaurants featuring mussels fresh from the waters of Penn Cove, are just walking distance from the cottages. Coupeville is also located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and its average rainfall is only 18 inches a year.

We look forward to your stay with us and are confident you will enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of Whidbey Island and Coupeville.
